Intero Downey Office Opens in Southern California

CUPERTINO, CA – Downey, California, best known as the birthplace of the Apollo space program now has a new service in town. Intero Franchise Services, Inc., a company affiliated with Intero Real Estate, Inc. (“Intero”), is proud to announce the opening of a new office in Downey, CA.

Currently, the Intero Downey office is a satellite branch of the Intero Rancho Cucamonga office. Danny Morel, the owner, manager and broker of the Rancho Cucamonga office, introduced Jason Lucero and Oscar Mendoza to the Intero brand. Together, the three own the Intero Downey office; meanwhile, Jason and Oscar are the managing partners.

Jason Lucero has worked full time in real estate for 15 years starting with a Century 21 office followed by managing a RE/MAX office. About one year ago, he met with Danny and Oscar to open an office. Jason had sought out coaches and people to support him at the beginning of his real estate career, and he plans to give the same kind of support to all the agents that work at Intero Downey. He says, “I think this is the perfect opportunity to ‘lead the troops’. I think Intero is exactly the type of office I always knew I would run because both Intero’s and our business model is based on contribution.”

Oscar Mendoza has been licensed and practicing real estate for over 15 years. His career began with Mulhearn Realtors and then RE/MAX. “Having matured into the real estate industry after several years of constant changes and then a ‘crash’, I decided my next accomplishment would be to manage, mentor, and educate the next generation of real estate professionals,” says Oscar. The only missing link to the master plan was finding the right model and company to lead with, until Oscar and Jason discovered Intero. “Gino’s path to creating an unstoppable company and brand was the way to go!” Oscar exclaims, speaking of Gino Blefari, the President and CEO of Intero.

Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate’s Terri Perlini Closes Three, Million-Plus Sales in Weston

Davis was appointed by the current Chair, Rick Westover. This will be her ninth year serving on the committee. This committee is responsible for reviewing and developing the standard residential real estate forms used by REALTORS® across the state of North Carolina. The NCAR Forms Committee’s first meeting with be held on September 9, 2013 at the NC Association of REALTORS® office in Greensboro.

Harry Norman, Realtors® Raises Over $10,000 for Charity

CUMMING, GA - Harry Norman, REALTORS® Forsyth/Lake Lanier Office raised over $10,000 for local Battered Women Shelters with their Ticket to Ride Benefit Horse Show.

On July 19 through July 21, 2013, the Forsyth/Lake Lanier Office worked with Black Horse Productions to put on the largest horse show Ticket to Ride has ever seen. With over 170 horses competing in the event, the show brought in over $10,000 that will now be donated to Hall County’s Gateway Domestic Violence Center, Forsyth County’s Family Haven, and Dawson and Lumpkin County’s No One Alone Shelter. The event was a Georgia Hunter Jumper Association and Southern Hunter Jumper of Georgia Rated show and featured Double-Point CLASSICS and Money Prizes.

Along with Harry Norman, REALTORS® Forsyth/Lake Lanier’s support, the show also had support from other various sponsors such as: Campbell & Brannon, J. Bristow Anderson Attorney at Law, Hawk Ridge Farm, Black Horse Productions, Hidden Oaks Show Jumpers, Vemma, Jar-Ja-Q, NLB Studios, Creations Bakery, Publix, Bulldog Movers, Buckhead Movers, and over 70 local businesses who donated items for the Silent Auction, which raised over $5,000.

The event also featured several vendors, concessions, a 50/50 raffle, a Cakes & Crafts party for children, and an Exhibitors Party where Nashville artist, Penny Dale, and Atlanta artist, Jay Memory performed.

"Our role here is to support the show so that we can increase the income to benefit the homes for battered women. We feel that giving back to the community is something Realtors should do," stated Senior Vice President and Managing Broker, Robert Aiken.

Harry Norman Broker Shares Junior Achievement Success Story

ATLANTA, GEORGIA – The announcement of Harry Norman, Realtors’ three year sponsorship and participation in the new Junior Achievement’s Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center, has employees eagerly awaiting the opportunity to volunteer. Located at the Georgia World Congress Center, Harry Norman, Realtors and Post Properties are sharing a storefront in the Finance Park section of the Discovery Center where students will learn about the financial responsibilities of choosing their first home.

Harry Norman’s new sponsorship has one employee waxing nostalgic about his experiences with Junior Achievement (JA). Mike Wright, Senior Vice President and Managing Broker of Harry Norman, Realtors’ Intown office, is not only a big proponent of JA but has been involved with them since his high school days. 

“It’s a great way to give school age children their first exposure into life as an adult,” says Wright.

When Wright joined Junior Achievement in the 1970’s, there were hundreds of participants in the metro Atlanta area. The JA program had developed after-school programs for high school kids and each club operated like miniature businesses.

Many Atlanta businesses would sponsor the different groups and provide mentors to help the kids learn about different aspects of business including creating a company, finding investors, researching and creating a product, and marketing and selling those products.

“In my first year of high school Junior Achievement came in and presented at one of our school assemblies. I thought it was a great idea and attended one of their meetings and I’ve been hooked ever since,” Wright reminisces.

Wright joined Junior Achievement at a location previously on East Andrews, which had approximately 150 student participants. The children were divided into smaller groups to create and manage their own company. Since the groups operated like mini businesses, members were able to set wages and earned a profit through the sale of their products. The clubs were also encouraged to raise capital through the sale of company shares.

Bellco was the company created by Wright’s group with the help of Southern Bell (now Bellsouth) engineers and mentors. The team created the Bellco Buzzer, an electronic box that hooked into a car and would alert the driver with a buzz when the lights were left on. At the time, the Bellco’s buzzer was ingenious and sold like hot cakes. Wright’s group created a company logo, marketing campaign and sales plan. Bellsouth brought in people to guide the group with each phase. Bellco was extremely successful.

Attending Junior Achievement meetings throughout his high school years, Wright eventually became president of Junior Achievement of Atlanta and earned a college scholarship from the organization as well.

Wright credits JA for helping provide the focus he needed to become a successful business person.

“I think Junior Achievement gave me an advantage over other kids as well as some understanding of how business operates,” said Wright.

Years after college, Wright taught an economics class at Centennial High School in Roswell, Ga. for a Junior Achievement initiative. Having been involved with JA for most of his life, Wright is thrilled that Harry Norman, Realtors will be part of the new Junior Achievement’s Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center.

“I think Harry Norman’s sponsorship and participation in the JA Discovery Center is very natural – helping kids understand how to buy and maintain a home makes total sense,” said Wright. “At some point in their lives these kids are going to be working, buying houses and cars and they should know how to deal with and budget for these assets,”

In the Harry Norman storefront, students will gain real-world experience on how to choose their first home. They will be guided by volunteers through budgeting decisions on home ownership and leasing options.

Wright believes that Harry Norman’s role in the new Junior Achievement’s Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center will make a positive impact on the community with long term benefits for the children of Georgia.
