LONG ISLAND, NY – Town & Country Real Estate’s Annual Top Most Expensive Sales of 2013 leads off with Steve Cohen’s purchase of 52 Further Lane, an oceanfront property in East Hampton Village, with a sale price of $62.5M. After that the sale prices quickly slid south.

Four of the Top 10 Most Expensive Sales were in Southampton’s estate area and three were in East Hampton’s estate area. These two villages continue to be the dominant forces on the high end, proving why they are the summer havens for the rich and famous, beginning with wealthy industrialists from Manhattan coming here on horse and buggy so many centuries ago.

Larry Agneberg Marks 30 Years of Vail Valley Real Estate Sales

Larry Agneberg, a broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, is celebrating his 30th year working in the Vail Valley real estate business.

Agneberg began his real estate career in late 1983 working with Stuart Canada at Canada’s of Vail Real Estate in Lionshead. After two years at Canada’s, he went to work with John Slevin at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and has been working out of the Lionshead office ever since.

Agneberg moved to Vail in 1974 after being born, raised and attending college in North Dakota with a short stint in New Mexico in the interim. After starting successful wholesale and retail operations in Vail and rounding out his resume, Agneberg dove into brokering real estate and has never looked back.

Montauk Oceanfront Sold To Bill O’Reilly by Town & Country Real Estate for $8.5M

The oceanfront property in Montauk that was all the buzz last year, as it sold for $8.5M and had a 600 sq. ft., summer cottage on it (among other structures), was purchased by famed political commentator Bill O’Reilly, who also hosts his own program, The O’Reilly Factor. Theresa Eurell, Manager of Town & Country’s Montauk office was the listing agent of the former Abbey property that sits on a bluff overlooking the majestic Atlantic Ocean.

The 1940s cottage has since been torn down and is being replaced with a custom built home, sure to have the same spectacular views, but with more space and luxury to sit and enjoy them from. The loss of this iconic bungalow is bittersweet for many in Montauk, including Theresa who says, “As a Montauk native who has always admired the Abbe property, along with many other locals, it was sad to see the structures come down.”

Bahamas’ Palm Cay Receives "Developer of the Year" Award

NASSAU, BAHAMAS - Palm Cay– the fully-funded, $200 million, family-oriented marina community, was recently presented with the first ever "Developer of the Year" Award from the Bahamian Contractors' Association (BCA).

The development in southeastern Nassau is just 180 miles from Miami and has caught the attention of U.S. residents searching for the ultimate vacation home in the Bahamas as well as the BCA for its outstanding development. "Palm Cay has illustrated its commitment to creating opportunities for contractors in the area," said BCA President, Godfrey Forbes. "Palm Cay nudged out two other competitors to win this award"

Similar to other contractor’s organizations around the world, the Bahamian Contractors' Association has presented many other awards to contractors, but never before to a development as a whole, showing that Palm Cay is truly an extraordinary project. Forbes said Palm Cay had also raised its profile, keeping the public informed about its progress, including meeting self-imposed deadlines and remaining on schedule without compromising quality.
